Student Visa Requirements
Acceptance from School
Official acceptance letter from Osafune Japanese Language School
Financial Proof
Bank statements showing sufficient funds (approximately ¥2,000,000/year)
Accommodation
Proof of residence in Japan (school dormitory or private accommodation)
Health Insurance
Valid health insurance coverage for the duration of stay
No Criminal Record
Certificate of no criminal record from home country

Document screening and online interview
After screening the entry sheet, an online interview will be conducted.If there are no problems, the applicant will be required to submit the required documents to apply for the "Certificate of Eligibility (COE)".
Submission of required documents and document review
Please submit the documents required for the application for admission and for acquiring a student visa.
Application Approved
We will apply to the Immigration Bureau for a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) on behalf of the applicant.
Immigration
The Immigration Bureau will review the application, and if there are no problems, a "Certificate of Eligibility (COE)" will be issued.
Issuance of Certificate of Eligibility and payment
Osafune Japanese Language School will notify you of the issuance of the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) and send you an invoice for the tuition fee.
Payment of course fees
You will be required to pay the tuition fees.
Dormitory arrangement
After confirming the payment of tuition fees, we will send the applicant their "Admission Certificate" and " COE". At this point, please contact us if you wish for help in arranging accommodations.
Visa issuance
Applicants or ( designated agency) are required to prepare the documents necessary to obtain a student visa and apply for a visa by themselves at the Japanese embassy or consul general in their area of residence.
Notification of arrival date
After obtaining a student visa, please book a flight to Japan and inform the Osafune Japanese Language School of your arrival flight and arrival time.

What is the application deadline?
Applications are accepted year-round, but we recommend applying at least 3 months before your desired start date to allow time for visa processing.
Do I need to know Japanese to apply?
No prior Japanese knowledge is required for our basic programs. However, some proficiency may be beneficial for advanced courses.
What is the acceptance rate?
Our acceptance rate varies by program and applicant qualifications. We review each application carefully to ensure the best fit for our students.
Can I work while studying?
Student visa holders can work part-time (up to 28 hours per week) during school terms and full-time during holidays.
